Our houses are self-catered. They are serviced by a maid every day. The houses have a fully equipped kitchen and it has sheets and towels. Beach Towels and sun umbrellas are provided on request. The water comes from a borehole and is pure and delicious. No need to bring bottled water.

All our accomodations are beach front and have beautiful beach views. It takes one to three minutes to go down and take a swim!

ESMERALDA, MADALENA & GRACA

Our maids Esmeralda, Madalena and Graca speak portuguese and a little english. They can assist you and will make sure you are comfortable. They come to each house for at least two hours a day.

Our accomodation does not provide internet or TV. If you need to access Internet we can organise this for you at an additional fee.

Bring sun screen, snorkel gear and reef shoes with you. In summer the sand gets hot. Please wear shoes so that you do not burn your feet!

We can fill your fridge before arrival if you request us to do so. Please contact us for price alternatives. You can buy fish from local fishermen or go on a fishing trip to catch your own. There are two restaurants at a short walking distance along the beach of five and ten minutes.

We have cellphone coverage from VODACOM, MCEL and MOVITEL.

Our electrical plugs are European. We can provide adaptors on request. The houses have a flashlight available but it is always good to bring your own.

It is perfectly safe to walk and enjoy the beach at any time, day and night.

    

FULL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. All bookings taken by the company are subject to these standard terms and conditions.
  2. A quotation is an offer to provide travel services and is subject to price increases. An agreement is only concluded once the full product price is paid for in full.
  3. The prices of all products are subject to change and may only be confirmed when paid for in full. Please note that quotes provided are subject to availability. The price quoted can never be guaranteed and all products, including but not limited to activities and transfers are subject to change without notice and prior to payment in full. Any increases must be borne and paid by the client.
  4. A booking request will be valid for 48 hours unless otherwise stated. The deposit must be paid, and it is the client’s responsibility to request and read the terms and conditions from both Xirundu Lodge and other suppliers. No person, organization or employee of Xirundu Lodge has authority to vary these booking conditions; and Xirundu Lodge reserves the right to decline any booking.
  5. A minimum of 30% non-refundable deposit is required to guarantee the reservation, and 50% for bookings between 20 December and 10 January. Until this payment has been made, the reservation cannot be guaranteed.
  6. The full balance is payable 30 days prior to travel date. If the full amount is not received in due time, Xirundu reserves the right to treat the booking as a cancellation.
  7. All bank charges associated with Electronic Fund Transfers will be for the account of the client.
  8. Any cancellations made by a client must be in writing. Any amendment or any change by a client to a reservation in whatsoever manner (date change, rerouting, etc) after payment constitutes a cancellation. In the event that the client cancels a reservation for whatever reason, the company shall charge an administration fee as follows:

Up to 30 days before arrival: 30% deposit will be retained

Up to 2 weeks before arrival: 50% of the booking amount will be retained**

Within 2 weeks of arrival: 100% cancellation fee

** During peak season of 20 December to 10 January this will default to 100% cancellation fee.

 In the case of date change (postponement) by the client after full payment has been made, the cancellation terms and conditions will apply to the dates of the original booking, possibly resulting in 100% cancellation fees.

  • Xirundu Lodge does not guarantee the safety standards or performance of any transfer supplier. The clients of any product purchased through Xirundu Lodge (i.e. activities or road transfers) accept that the use of the produce may be dependent on certain factors beyond Xirundu Lodge’s control and therefore agree that Xirundu Lodge will not be held liable for any compensation to the client if it is forced to cancel or in any way change the booking or any activity or transfer due inter alia, but not exclusively, to force majeure including war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions or other external circumstances beyond the control of Xirundu Lodge. Xirundu Lodge reserves the right to cancel the booking without prior notification and in such an event only agrees to refund all monies already paid and received by the client. Unforeseen cancellations due to war, unrest or any other force majeure or other circumstances are still subject to the booking terms. In the event that the client changes any travel arrangements such as, but not limited to accommodation, activities, transfers or any portion of the agreed itinerary, Xirundu Lodge shall not be held liable for any compensation or costs to the client whatsoever.
  • Travel and cancellation insurance, to include cover for activities, is recommended for all clients. All insurance is solely the responsibility of the client. Before a client commences with travel, he or she should arrange his or her own insurance with a reputable insurer, with protection for the full duration of their stay to cover personal injury, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, loss of luggage and expenses associated with the cancellation or curtailment of any booking. 
  • Clients hereby acknowledge, confirm and record that they understand and appreciate the risk inherent in travel including particular the hazards of boat travel and any associated marine/terrestrial activities. Clients also confirm that they are aware of and appreciate the real dangers and risks associated with travel to Africa, it’s wilderness areas, arising from the presence of wild and dangerous animals, reptiles, fish and birds and the real risk of suffering bodily harm, injury or death or loss of property which may arise as a result of an encounter with a or the presence of wild animals and or reptiles, fish and birds. The client undertakes all

activities and travel at his or her own risk. Such risk could include injury, disease or death. The client agrees and concedes that Xirundu Lodge and its members and employees shall not be responsible for loss or damage to property or injury or illness to the client or loss of life of consequential damages which might occur from any cause whatsoever.

  1. The client hereby acknowledges an awareness of the booking and confirms that he or she is medically fit, in good physical and mental health and is able to travel. Any client with a preexisting medical condition or illness must declare the true nature of such conditions to Xirundu Lodge before the commencement of the booking. Any failure to declare may result in cancellation of his or her booking.
  2. It is the clients’ sole responsibility to ensure that passport, visa and other required documents are in order. Any resulting consequences of a client’s failure for not having his or her required paperwork or vaccinations in order shall be to the account and the sole responsibility of the client.
  3. All clients and their agents confirm that they have read and abide by the aforementioned and agree to the terms and conditions therein contained. All clients record that they are making a booking at their own risk and waive any claims that they might have in regard to the injury, loss of death which might occur due to any causes whatsoever. Xirundu Lodge refers in particular to any minor child or children who may be accompanying the client and confirm specifically that these terms and conditions applies to such child or children. The client and agent further binds their dependents, heirs, executors, administrators and assigns to the terms and conditions of this agreement and hold blameless Xirundu Lodge, it’s members, associates, employees, representatives, organizers, helpers and agents from all liability for any or all claims whatsoever and howsoever arising and without limitation (including consequential claims) arising from any delay, loss or damage to property or injury or illness or death arising from any cause related to or occurring during a booking, activity or tour with Xirundu Lodge.
